The Merchant Marine Athletics family lost a true friend and legend as Jules "Red" Wagner passed away earlier this week.

Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Commissioner Dr. Kevin T. McGinniss announced today that United States Merchant Marine Academy Athletics Director Sue Petersen Lubow has been named the recipient of the 2013 Katherine Ley Award.

Mary Zehnder (Carle Place, NY) earned USMMA s points on the women s side with a sixth-place outing in the 5,000-meter run, clocking in at 2:34.49 to win her heat.

Eilzabeth Simmons (Pekin, IL) placed third in the javelin with a mark of 24.21 meters.

Mary Zehnder (Carle Place, NY) recorded the top finish on the women s side, taking 11th in the 1500 meters by crossing the tap in 5:16.66.

The USMMA track & field teams competed at the Osprey Open over the weekend, bringing a full team to an outdoor meet for the first time this season.
